Baked Spareribs with Barbecue Sauce
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 6
- 2 lb lean pork spareribs
- Fresh ground pepper to taste
- Paprika to taste
- Dry mustard to taste
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp oregano½ cup water
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Trim excess fat from ribs. Rub with a mixture of pepper, paprika, and dry mustard. Cut into 6 serving portions and place in a baking pan. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Remove pan from oven and pour off fat.
- Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the ribs. Cover and let stand 15 minutes.
- Return ribs to 325-degree oven and bake, covered, for 1 ½ hours. Remove cover, baste, and bake for an additional ½ hour. Spoon off excess fat before serving.
